bolts to set timing, and started the car. Set timing with car on and only tightened the top bolt, then shut off the car. Went inside house and when I came back I just closed the hood and drove the car around. Took it to work the next day and it started misfiring. 1 minute before I get home the exhaust popped and car shut off. I didn't restart it and I popped the hood and pulled the plugs to make sure it wasnt flooded. I fiddled with everything and tapped here and there and cranked it up and it backfired twice extremely loud and didn't start. So I checked the cas and the bottom left and bottom bolts were loose. I knew because of this the cam was at an angle and cause the cas sensor teeth to be worn. I put in a new cas and it ran good then misfired again. This time the Halfmoon pin on the cas dowel had broken.
Next day I pulled the cam drilled a 1/8 hole in the center then used a bigger bit and threaded it. I installed a screw per the jwt guide and it broke inside the hole. so I retapped the broken screw with a 1/8 and the bit broke in the broken screw in the cam.So I went to the store, bought a 6 pack and scratched my head for a bit.I tried drilling over the drill bit but nothing hapoened. so i drilled to the left and right of the broken drill bit and pulled it out with needle nose pliers. After that I pulled the broken screw out out and only used a tap and handle to extract the broken cas dowel pin. installed a Jwt Chromoly dowel pin and all is well again.
